Leon Gallo is an Italian photographer and writer based in Tokyo.

With a background in journalism, he began working with photography in 2017. 

His practice is centred on long-term documentary and narrative projects exploring memory, social transformation, and the relationship between people and place.

His work combines photography with field research, archival material, interviews, and writing.

Alongside his photographic practice, he writes fiction and non-fiction.

His images have been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Japan, and at photography festivals worldwide.

He keeps his identity secret so that he can work more freely on investigative stories.
